Sensory Awareness Month

As a Speech-Language Pathologist, I know how important sensory processing is to communication, speech, language, learning, and overall well-being. Many of the students and clients I work with for speech and or language challenges also experience the world differently because of sensory differences. This month is all about celebrating and raising awareness of those unique sensory needs, whether it's someone who is hypersensitive to sound, seeks out tactile input, or needs a quiet space to regulate their emotions.

Understanding sensory processing is key to fostering communication and learning environments that are inclusive, accessible, and respectful of neurodiversity. Whether you're a parent, educator, therapist, or advocate, I encourage you to take this month to learn more about sensory processing and how we can all support those with sensory needs.

Together, we can create a world where sensory differences are understood, accepted, and celebrated!
